Kids Dental Emergency In Tomball

It can be difficult to see your child in discomfort.  Accidents happen and we are here to help.  If your child is suffering from a dental emergency, toothache or traumatic dental injury, give our office a call as soon as possible at 713-944-4199 so we can determine what your child needs to feel comfortable again.

Here are basic guidelines for some common dental emergencies:

Knocked-out tooth: If a permanent tooth, rinse the tooth gently and put it back into the socket if safe to do so. Otherwise, immerse the tooth in a cup of milk.  Contact our office immediately.

Chipped or cracked tooth: Save any tooth fragments, if possible. Rinse your child’s mouth gently with warm salt water. Apply cold compresses for swelling and pain, as needed. Contact our office as soon as possible.

Lost crown: If a dental crown becomes loose or falls off the tooth, contact us immediately.  Leaving the tooth uncrowned may lead to further tooth damage.

Soft tissue injuries: For injuries causing bleeding in the mouth or gums, rinse your child’s mouth carefully. Hold damp gauze or a dampened tea bag on the site for 15 minutes. If the bleeding still continues, contact us.

Emergency Help...At Your Child's Pace

Our aim is to see our patients leave our office with a smile on their faces. Pleasant visits play a crucial role in helping children establish trust and confidence that will benefit them throughout their lives. If any additional treatment is needed, we will discuss it with you and schedule it for a future date.

Our goal is to build a close and direct connection with your child to quickly earn their trust. We’ve observed that children tend to respond more positively when they are given some independence.

If your child cries, please don’t be alarmed. Fear of new and unfamiliar things is common in children, and crying is a natural response to fear. Offering positive and encouraging words as a parent after the visit, such as “You were very brave today” or “Having your teeth counted is easy,” can help your child feel more at ease during their future visits.

We strive to make each and every visit to our office a fun one, even if we can, an emergency visit!
